Just Minor Details—comments on current topics and popular issues. Is our nation descending into mediocrity? Are we are abandoning the drive to excel that made our country great and prosperous and replacing it with a desire to be average? Some believe that we are just becoming a kinder and gentler society. But, are we replacing “meet you at the top” with “meet you somewhere in the middle or at the bottom?” Our leaders with different political and economic persuasions too often do not understand the intended consequences of their actions. And too often, they give no weight to the possible unintended consequences of their actions that are the “minor details.” The current slight majority’s prevalence on today’s issues can bankrupt us and compromise the values that made our country great.
Usually the minor details are simple in nature and missed by most of today’s pundits. Reading or listening to their observations, it is hard to believe that they live in the same country with the rest of us.
Blogging is my effort at self defrustration. I am conservative by default as a result of life experience. I have no credentials other than raising a family, working in and managing both union and non-union employee groups in the Midwest and Eastern US, paying my share of local, state and federal taxes and finally—trying to enjoy retirement while dealing with the aging process.
